BirdQuest AI ("we", "the app") helps you identify and collect birds. This policy explains what we collect and why.

Information we collect

• Account: your name and email from Sign in with Apple (Apple may relay a private email).
• Activity: the birds you identify and save — species, confidence, optional notes, and (only if you choose to tag it) the location of a sighting.
• Subscription status for Premium features, verified through Apple.

Photos

Photos you capture are sent once to our AI provider (OpenAI) to identify the bird and are not stored on our servers. The photo itself stays on your device.

How we use it

To provide bird identification, your collection, journal, achievements, and the AI bird expert. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising or tracking.

Third parties

• OpenAI — processes photos and chat questions to generate results.
• Apple — sign-in and subscription payments.
• MongoDB Atlas — stores your account and activity data.

Deleting your data

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time in the app: Profile → Delete Account.

Children

BirdQuest AI is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13.
